School Mosaic Projects, Community Workshops and Teambuilding
School projects and partnerships with community groups are very important at Bella Mosaic Art. Owner, Jessica Liddell, has conducted hundreds of mosaic workshops in a variety of settings. Mosaic Art is a unique and vibrant medium and an amazing vehicle for collaboration and team building. This blog will highlight favorite projects. Please feel free to leave feedback or ask questions on this blog.

This Rain Forest Jungle mural was made by 4th, 5th and 6th graders. Students made the tiles that make up the trees and foliage and designed and assembled the animal mosaics. In the lower areas, students set the tiles themselves, in the areas that were only accessible by ladders, parent volunteers joined in.

Baldwin's Run Bench Series
Over the course of a sixty day residency, five benches and two planters were created to be installed in the Baldwin's Run Community of East Camden. Adults and children created tile with words and images that were used in these mosaics. Along with the "Kids Bench" were five artist fabricated benches that reflect the culture and traditions of East Camden residents. The theme and images used in the benches were developed though a number of workshops and interviews with neighborhood residents.
Bo De Temple Wall
This community project was a collaboration between pre-college programs at University of the Arts and the members of a Buddhist Temple in South Philadelphia. College students, neighbors and temple congregants came together to glaze over 300 tiles that make up the wall on 13th street and Washington Ave
Cafeteria Mosaic at Coopertown Elementary SchoolThis Mosaic was made with pieces of commercial tile and tiles that the students made themselves. Peeking out of the school bus and the school windows are self portrait tiles that were made by the younger students. Word tiles surround the artwork. Students chose words that they felt represented the school community.
